I'd like to think there is a lot of subtlety to this photograph.

Details include:
- his cross
- he has an earring
- clip on sunglasses
- one very white hat
- the bench is in memory of a beloved son and brother
- the two shadows are not of the photographer but of other people out for a stroll
- he's reading an article entitled 'Tanya Tucker returns to center stage' in the music section of what looks like the Globe & Mail

Although this was shot in a very public place, to me it still feels like an invasion of privacy because the subject is showing so much of himself.

Out in English Bay one fine evening.

Soo, the new 85mm is really sharp! This is straight out of the camera.

Uploaded at full size, lots of little scenes in this shot.

Trying out this method for hacking sync speed with a PC cable.

On the left is an SB-600 hooked up to my D200 with a PC cable. You can see the shutter sweeping across at higher sync speeds.

On the right is an SB-600 hooked up to my D200 with a PC cable, but I also have another SB-600 sitting on my hotshoe at 1/64. The flash on the hotshoe doesn't contribute any noticeable light and tricks the D200 into Auto FP mode.

Doesn't seem as efficient as just using CLS to trigger the flashes, but interesting to try nevertheless.

Just bought a new lens and figured I'd take a picture of the lineup. My new lens is a prime 85mm f/1.8 which looks like it's going to be a lot of fun. Super buttery bokeh.

From left to right:
- 55-200mm f/4-5.6G - rarely gets used
- 18-70mm f/3.5-4.5G - great on the streets
- 85mm f/1.8D - looking forward to using in portraiture and at live music
- 35mm f/2.0D - amazing almost everywhere, my take everywhere lens right now

Taken with a 50mm f/1.8D on my D200.
